WANT TO ADOPT KITTENS!

From Left to Right
Daniel, Proud Marsha and Kittens, Mia and Maeve
Our kitten 'season' has well and truly started with 11 mums in care with kittens ranging from 3 days old and 3 mum's in waiting and this is only the 2nd week of May. The first of these kittens will be ready for adoption in 7 to 10 days time, after they have had their 1st vaccinations at 9-weeks-old.
One of our criteria's in homing our kittens is ideally in pairs, this especially applies if you are out at work during the day, even if only part-time.
For further details and our adoption procedure phone our Catline on 01268 285778, be prepared to leave a message and we will return your call ASAP!!
Adopt a Cat or Kitten
We always have a selection of cute (and not so cute) cats and adorable kittens looking for new loving homes.
All our cats and kittens will have been health checked, flea sprayed and wormed, micro-chipped, have been vaccinated against Feline Flu and Enteritis, Leukaemia and all cats over 5 months are already neutered. Cats Protection does not charge a fee when you adopt a cat. However, we do accept donations in the region of £60 for every cat or kitten homed. This helps us to cover some of those costs already incurred as every cat in Cats Protection care can cost us more than £100.00 before it is ready for rehoming, If everyone who adopts one of our cats donates £60 to the branch it enables us to help far more cats each year which after all is the central aim of the charity. You must agree to to get a kitten neutered at 5 months.
Before we home any of our cats, prospective owners have to agree to a home check visit. As we will have spent a lot of time and money on our foster cat/kitten, the purpose of this visit is to ensure that our cat or kitten is going to be happy in its new home, and that we have matched the right cat/ kitten to the right owner. Once a cat/kitten has been homed, we do a follow up visit apporox 2 months later to ensure that the cat/kitten is settled in its new home and that the new owners have no problems.
Should you decide to adopt a kitten from us, you will be asked to sign a declaration promising to have the kitten neutered when it gets to 6 months of age. Please note that in the event of this promise not being kept, we will take the kitten back into our care.
If you live within our area and would like to adopt a cat or kitten, please contact our CATLINE on 01268 285778. Our Homing Officer will discuss with you what kind of cat you are interested in and you will be put in touch with one of our fosterers.
Alternatively, come along to one of our CAT HOMING SHOWS. These are like a cat show, but all the cats there are looking for a new home. The shows are held every couple of months (see our Events Page for dates etc) and we take along all the cats and kittens which are ready for homing on the day. In this way, you can see them all at once!
